Local trust metric/moloko

Moletrust is a local trust metric that takes the specific user's point of view into account. Given the same target user, a local trust metric predicts different "how much you should trust this user" values for every different user.

Example:

• if i trust cheney, a local trust metric will predict i should trust bush as 1.
• if i trust kerry (or kucinich), a local trust metric will predict i should trust bush as 0.

A global trust metric, instead, predicts the same value of trust for every user in the same target user. For example, a global trust metric will tell to every user "you should trust bush as 0.5" assuming half of the users trust bush and half of the user distrust bush.

PageRank is an example of global trust metric: the pagerank of microsoft.com is 9/10 independently of the fact I like GNU/Linux or Windows or MacOSx

P.S. It is generally called "personalized" metric. E.g. "personalized PageRank", which differs from the global one by a personalization of a set of starting pages. See articles by W.Nejdl.
