From TrustLet, a free, collaborative project for collecting and analyzing information about trust metrics.

The node of a (social) network can be any autonomous entity able to express trust statements or in general relationships with other nodes.

Examples of nodes are: users in Web systems, peers in P2P systems, robots, communicating mobile phone in ad hoc networks, interacting servers, agents in a multi agents system or communicating mobile devices such as mobiles and robots.

We need to stick with a term for indicating the entity that is the creator (or the target) of the trust statement. Possibilities are: principal, user, agent, person, entity (add more...). At the moment we are going to use "principal". But please do discuss this choice in this discussion page.
