I like the efforts being made here, and thought I might tweak a bit on occasion.
I'm in the state of Texas, USA, and recently retired from the military. I've background and interest in computers, reading, science, and technology.
I learned English by Phonics and studied Spanish in High School, so I have a little knowledge of related languages, enough to make some rough sense of a paragraph in context, but am very weak in specifics, especially nouns with different etymologies than the English words.
Professionally, I have over 200 credit hours across nearly 30 years, including three associate degrees. Relevant here is the one in Maintenance Management Technology. This includes 16 years of training and work with programming, database management, data analysis and data presentation to senior management, work with data security, network security, and sensitivity of data collected.
Avocationally, I have contacts with field, laboratory, and theoretical scientists in a number of fields, and have done some paleontology field work as a volunteer, participating in the data collection aspects of science.
